Impact of assistive technology and students' performance in Kenya

Research has revealed that visually impaired learners perform dismally in languages. There is need to assist them to improve their performance because the language is a key of communication, especially for teacher trainees. The visually impaired learners are disadvantaged because they can not see and follow the teacher explanation especially in the traditional way of teaching. A strategy should be sought to contain the poor performance of this learners. This book addresses the problem of visually impaired poor performance by use of assistive technology intervention in teaching the visually impaired learners. The same assistive technology approach can be used to teach other subjects apart from languages to both visually impaired and the other students in order to boost academic performance.
