Impact of a Reflective Practices Series on Career Aspirations

In the present times, schools have the responsibility of not only developing competencies among learners that would make them employable in the future, but also capable of creating jobs for themselves. In order to develop employability skills, it is crucial for all stakeholders in the education sector to be sensitive towards the career aspirations of the learners. In order to enable learners to identify what influences their career aspirations, introducing learners to reflective practices would enable making them independent thinkers and realise how they think as well. Through this study, the researchers attempt to develop, implement and evaluate a ¿Reflective Practice Series¿ to develop Career Aspirations among Class VIII Students in a chosen CBSE school in Bengaluru. The study investigates whether there is a difference in the impact among genders of the selected sample as well. The research brings out educational implications of the study; it aspires to serve as a call for various stakeholders in the educational system to nurture career aspirations of learners.
