Higher Education Institutions and the Dynamics of the Third Mission

The third mission emerges as a bridge between Higher Education Institutions and their environment, becoming a key element for the resolution of current problems, which require a dynamic and real-time response. Through the transfer of knowledge and technology, Higher Education Institutions stimulate industry and society, becoming a key agent in the approach to innovation and entrepreneurship, as a facilitator for sustainable development.This study aims to understand the dynamics of the third mission of Higher Education Institutions as a stimulating factor for the globalization of the economy and the evolution of the community, the global development of industry and the evolution of society. It had as a case study the 1st Batch of the DEMOLA Project, developed in the 1st semester of 2021, in the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave.
