Herbicidal Toxicity to Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria

In modern high input agricultural practices pesticides are frequently used to overcome insect-pest problems and to subsequently enhance crop production in different agro-ecosystems. The injudicious application of herbicides after accumulation in soil however poses a major threat to both soil-microbial diversity and the functional ability of rhizosphere microbes which in turn adversely affect the productivity of many agronomically important crops. Considering these, a book entitled ¿Herbicidal Toxicity to Functional Ability of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteriä was designed which highlights the toxicity of pesticides including herbicides to rhizobacteria and identifying herbicide resistant rhizobacterial strains with multiple plant growth promoting activities.
