Heavy Metals Effect on Indian Mustard

In the present book, the effect of different heavy metals viz. Zn, Pb and Cd on important crop Indian mustard (Brassica juncea) are presented which was carried out as a work for M.Sc. in 2013. Heavy metals are one of the pollutants which can affect the environment and in turn human health. The effect of metals on the plant was evaluated in the present work from which it was observed that it facilitated the growth of plants up to a certain concentration of some metals. Further studies can be done to evaluate the efficiency of this plant in phytoremediation, which can be helpful as a cheaper source to clean the polluted environment. This book can help researchers to carry out similar work on other important crops.
