Healthcare reform in Bulgaria to continue: Immediately

Health reform in Bulgaria must to continue immediately because: (1) The major health indicators of the population in our country over the years become more unfavorable in comparison with the countries of the European Union; (2) health care in this country do not satisfy the needs of citizens and doesn¿t match the resources spent. Construction and development of the health system as a system that it means need a high degree of appropriate integration between its components to obtain systematic effect which must always exceed the sum of the effects of its various components. This cumulative effect is reflected in the health indicators of the population and is the main task of management. Modern health system in Bulgaria is disaggregated and disintegrated. Its major systemic defects consist mainly in damaged relationships and system-stabilizing balance, not in ¿not enough resources¿ or "corrupt" staff. Necessary reform of the health system must continue with the formation of a national health policy that is implemented consistently and purposefully throughout the health system.
