Health in the territory: an approach to the Technical Efficiency of the Health System in Ecuador through DEA Data Envelopment Analysis

The present research analyzed the use of resources in the Ecuadorian health system, whose scarcity requires that their provision be carried out in a way that, in addition to guaranteeing their therapeutic effectiveness, ensures their efficient use, allowing to achieve the desired universal coverage; the objective was to know and examine the Technical Efficiency in the health system of Ecuador during the year 2018, applying the Data Envelopment Analysis, for it was considered as DMU to the public and private health sectors and the 24 provinces of the country; as inputs to the medical and administrative staff, the available beds and environments; as outputs to the discharges, consultations, surgical interventions and emergency care.
