Handbook for Intellectual Property Protection in Taiwan

Most of the Taiwan IP laws and practices are becoming more and more favorable to the IP right owners. In addition, the Taiwan IP Court has begun to make some internal reforms regarding case judgments and adjusted the court procedures and improved the standards for judging legal and factual issues, and this has given the plaintiff more of a chance to win a civil lawsuit and be awarded damages. We may conclude from these changes that Taiwan is a jurisdiction which has sounder intellectual property laws and practices and is friendlier to intellectual property rights owners. Therefore, it is also becoming safer and more worthwhile for intellectual property rights owners to consider deploying their IP portfolios and enforcing their rights in Taiwan. In this respect, this book is aimed at providing a basic introduction and guidance about various aspects of Taiwan intellectual property rights for those people who may be interested in having intellectual property rights protection in Taiwan.
