The aim of this study is to identify growth determinants and the major challenges of small manufacturing enterprises of urban areas of Oromia Regional State of Ethiopia. The enterprises in these areas are struggling with the lack of working and selling space of their products and lack of good governance are the primary challenges of enterprises in their day to day operations. Limited access to debt finance and the instability of market conditions are the next most serious challenges for the enterprises in the study area. Among all, the results show that there is a need of favorable government policies and legal framework regarding micro and small enterprises.
