Ground Conditioning in EPB Tunnelling

This study is about conditioning in EPB Machines. It is a general introduction of mechanized tunneling especially with earth pressure balanced shields and the problem of its limited range of application and how it could be increased with soil conditioning, also the meaning of conditioning parameters, when do we use them and why? At the same time, giving a practical example of tunneling in soft ground, using ground-conditioning agents in a land that had never dug a tunnel before, or used a TBM or even used soil-conditioning agents in its ground. It is about limestone, special limestone, Simsima Limestone, where Karsting is a main problem.
