GREEN ECONOMY

Originally, the purpose of the green economy was to open a political space for a deeper discussion to take place. But as such, and as argued in this book, such a discussion has to transcend a mere "economization" of nature and the search for quick technological answers. On the contrary, it must establish a new "political ecology" in an environmentally chaotic Venezuelan administration and participate broadly in the formulation of a new and deeper agenda for change. Today more than ever, the relevance of this task is clear. The economic and ecological foundations of general prosperity are in jeopardy, the gap between rich and poor continues to widen. This book puts the Green Economy to the test, discusses its promise, describes its real consequences and names its weaknesses through a model oriented to the Venezuelan target productive sector. It is an invitation to embrace radical optimism to find transformative strategies for a livable future.
