Graduate Quantity Surveyors (GQS)

There are many opportunities open to Graduate Quantity Surveyors for gaining practical professional experience, some are relevant, and others are irrelevant to the mode of training they received at the University. Those opportunities are in two categories, namely training opportunities (such as Enhanced Articulate Pupilage Program (EAPP), Continuous Professional Development (CPD), seminars, workshops and pre-job training) and employment opportunities (such as public and private financial institutions, tertiary educational institutions, consultancy firms, construction companies, professional boards and dispute resolution committees). Many challenges are encountered by Graduate Quantity Surveyor when pursuing those opportunities, some being lack of capital for self-employment, high pressure working conditions, lack of trust by employers and application of computer software, QS software in particular.
