Angesichts konkreter Leidens- und Gewalterfahrungen verlieren klassische theodizeetheoretische Rechtfertigungsversuche zunehmend an Überzeugungskraft. Das Buch untersucht Ingolf Dalferths hermeneutischen Zugang zur Problematik des Bösen und fragt, ob trotz der Erfahrung von Sinnverlust eine erneuerte Glaubensorientierung möglich bleibt. Dabei kommt der Gegenwart Gottes zentrale Bedeutung zu. Im Dialog mit der Neuen Politischen Theologie (Dorothee Sölle, Jürgen Moltmann, Johann Baptist Metz) wird diese Perspektive um die Dimension politischer Verantwortung erweitert. Zugleich werden die theologischen Entwürfe aus der Perspektive eines koreanischen Denkhorizonts kritisch rezipiert.

The examination of the relationship between good and evil is one of the central themes of Christian theology. In light of concrete experiences of suffering and violence, classical theodicy attempts at justification are increasingly losing their persuasiveness. This book examines Ingolf Dalferth's hermeneutical approach to the problem of evil and asks whether, despite the experience of a loss of meaning, a renewed orientation towards faith remains possible. The presence of God is of central importance here. In dialogue with New Political Theology (Dorothee Sölle, Jürgen Moltmann, Johann Baptist Metz), this perspective is expanded to include the dimension of political responsibility. At the same time, the theological concepts are critically examined from the perspective of a Korean intellectual horizon.
