GEOTECHNICAL STUDY OF WATERSHED MANAGEMENT

Water is one of the five basic elements and the most important element of life. The major part of the available water on the Earth's surface is not useful for domestic, industrial and irrigation purposes. India is endowed with perennial & ephemeral rivers and showered by the monsoons. Telangana State is situated in Tropical region and located in rain shadow zone, therefore efficient way of watershed management is the need of the hour. Geotechnical study enhances the methods to harness and conserve the Water resources, Soil and Vegetation. The present work makes an effort to effectively utilize the modern technology for better understanding of the multilayer data and their interoperability for final analysis and conclusion. This work forms the basis for future development of the resources in the study area.
