Gender Mainstreaming of ICTs Policies and Programmes

Information Communication Technologies have dominated the 21st Century. The current age is termed as information age. No sphere of human existence has been left untouched by the unprecedented growth of ICTs. All over the world, ICTs has been considered as an independent and also as a supporting tool for development and empowerment of the people. With all its potential to accelerate the pace of development and to make the process of development more inclusive for all sections of the population, actual realization of the potential of ICTs depends significantly upon the intentions and will of the governments about the way they use ICTs. Hence policy formulation for ICTs has become an important sphere for discussion among all stakeholders.
