Fundamentals of Petroleum Reservoir Engineering

This textbook contains six chapters. The first three chapters deal with petroleum reservoir fluids and the other three chapters deal with petroleum reservoir rock properties. Chapter one contains basic concepts about ideal and real gas laws and derivative of them. The second chapter explains the important properties of natural gas and crude oil. Chapter three demonstrate phase behavior of petroleum in the reservoir and also during production of oil and gas. In addition to laboratory analysis of reservoir fluids. Chapter four illustrates the basic reservoir rock properties which include porosity, saturation, permeability and wettability. In chapter five we state capillary pressure and its effect on zonation of oil within reservoir rocks as well as relative permeability. At the end in chapter six reserve estimation methods by volumetric and material balance equation methods beside reservoir recovery mechanisms have been explained.
