As the adage goes: the journey of a thousand miles begins with a correct step in the right direction. I commenced the writing of this book having given it a thought to produce one that will leave an imprint in the sand of time. Hence, the chief purpose of this book is to provide an exhaustive treatment of adsorption processes from a chemical engineering viewpoint as a unit operation and chemical kinetics, intended for teaching, learning and research purposes. Herein, materials are presented in a succinct manner for easy comprehension by the undergraduate and graduate students as well as the industrialists, while at the same time the standard of rigour demanded by sound analysis of adsorption processes is not compromised. Some practical applications of adsorption processes are well illustrated for a better understanding of the fundamentals themselves.
