Functional Materials and their Applications

With the technological advancement, rapid industrialization more and more new materials that have diverse applications have been invented. From the past three decades, there has been a drastic research related to new class of materials such as nano materials, liquid crystals and polymers. Nano science and technology has gained interest with the advent of nanoscale materials. Nano materials have vide range of applications from semiconductor devices to drug delivery and cancer therapy. Similarly, liquid crystals have been used in displays, computers, calculators, signals and also in medical diagnosis. Now, a day¿s conducting polymers have been used for variety of industrial applications.This book provides the basic information about the introduction, types, synthesis and applications of nano materials, liquid crystals, polymers with brief information about the conventional materials used for civil construction woks.
