Formulation and Characterization of Diclofenac Sodium Topical gel

Arthritis is the swelling and tenderness of one or more joints. The main symptoms of arthritis arejoint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age. The most common types of arthritis areosteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. There are so many of delivery systems which are in usebut topical gel is very convenient and safest route. diclofenac topical gel is used to relieve painfrom arthritis in certain joints such as those of the knees, ankles, feet, elbows, wrists, and hands. Prescription diclofenac topical gel is used to relieve osteoarthritis pain in the joints.In this present study it can be concluded that topical gel formulations containing drug Diclofenac sodium were prepared with different concentration of gelling agents (carbopol-940/934/ HPMC 3K), which have shown an acceptable results in various studies.This basic study comprise with the preformulation work and characterization of prepared gel formulations.
