Forestry's Contribution to Mountanious Tribal of Indian Himalayas

The first chapter discusses about the forestry's contribution and poor. The subsequent chapter develops the theoretical basis for analyzing linkages between household charecteristics and forestry¿s contribution. The third chapter describes the study region and available resources. Chapter four builds on the theory to generate a set of operational hypotheses about the forestry's contribution and linkages with household attributes. Chapter five appraises the quality of life of the community and examines the relationships between household characteristics and forestry¿s contribution. The sixth chapter focuses on gender role and inequality with special refrence to forest collection. Chapter seven contains proposed indices for measure of forestry¿s contribution. The final chapter summaries the results and sets these findings within the content of public policies that influences forest management and conservation.
