Foreigners Establishing Businesses in Finland

This work shows available public business support services for foreign entrepreneurs in Finland, specifically in Lahti Region. The main purpose of this study is to compose a comprehensive English guidance package to foreigners who would like to set up companies in Finland, especially in Lahti Region. Furthermore, there are 5 interviews of existing entrepreneurs in Lahti Region to learn their experiences in starting up businesses, awareness and using of public business support services, and recommendations to improve better services to encourage foreign entrepreneurs. Based on interviews, the results points out the roles of different organizations with their different tasks to support new businesses, and similarities of companies¿ characteristics which use their services. Furthermore, the study finds out the missing parts in their operations and some recommendations on their services to encourage foreign entrepreneurs.
