Foreign Direct Investment,Exchange rate and Economic Growth in Nigeria

Despite the numerous studies on FDI-growth, exchange rate-growth and FDI-exchange rate nexus across the globe, little attention has been given to the interaction among FDI, exchange rate and economic growth in Nigeria simultaneously. However, the effect of exchange rate and FDI on economic growth in Nigeria has not been accorded enough attention in the literature. Also the direction of causality among FDI, exchange rate and economic growth had generated controversies in the literature. Some assert that FDI cause growth while recorded a mixed results. Given the contentious and inconclusive nature of these views, therefore, there is need to ascetain the relationship among this variable and also to determine the causality among the variable so as to ascertain the direction and strength of the potential feedback among the FDI, exchange rate and economic growth in Nigeria, Hence, this study.
