Food Security: Issues and Perspectives

Food security is an essential component of human development, and is interconnected with all other human securities, viz., economic security, health security, environmental security, personal security, community security, and political security. Climate change will affect all aspects of food security, viz., food availability (production, distribution, exchange), food access (affordability, access, preference), food use (nutritional value, social value, food safety), and food system stability. Despite this, research and policy discussion across the world, has focused on the impacts of climate change on only one dimensions of food security, i.e., food availability (food production). In this book author has discussed different dimensions of food security along with factors that lead to food insecurity. Besides, this book discusses policies that may help government in designing policies to do away with the problems of food insecurity.
