FM radio stations contribution in the development of civic sense

Radio Pakistan was once considered as a popular medium of entertainment and information. After its decline, FM radio stations have undoubtedly revived the radio industry and due to this its listenership and popularity have increased. FM radio stations are believed to be contributing to the development of civic sense. This research examines the role of FM radio stations in making an impact on civic development in Pakistan. This study highlights the role and influence of electronic media in the development of civic awareness in a society and how issues like traffic awareness, health awareness and environmental cleanliness have been given importance. This research has provided a new dimension for the upcoming researchers to study the impact and role of FM radio station especially in civic development so that it would help the media practitioners especially related to FM Radio stations or private and government based departments for traffic, health and environment.
