Financial Accounting

The writing of this book was motivated by the desire to contribute to the existing OHADA Accounting Literature. Specifically, to close the gap that exists between OHADA Accounting and International Accounting. As a lecturer of Accounting with the Universities of Buea, Dschang and Fomic Polytechnic, and with my experience as a Chartered Accountant in practice, I have hardly seen a fundamental difference between the two accounting systems. The institution of the revised OHADA Act on Accounting and Financial Reporting, beginning first January 2018, led to the review of Principles of Accounting just one year after its publication. This review gave us the opportunity to repackage into now financial accounting by adding more end of chapter exercises, and generally, present accounts in accordance with the revised law. We have equally presented a new OHADA chart of Accounts in English. This Volume is useful to practitioners, lecturers and especially students preparing for the GCE, HND and University courses in Financial Accounting. By reading this text, they will be equipped with knowledge and skills that will enable them to prepare financial statements for various entities within OHADA
