Fenceline feeding system for dairy cows

This book discusses in brief the general housing requirement of dairy animals in tropical countries and provides a detailed discussion on fenceline feeding system in which the cows are allowed to access their feed in natural grazing position. It reviews the available literature on effect of fenceline feeding system on milk production, milk composition, Dry matter intake, feed wastage and various behavioral parameters of dairy animals. Finally it empirically evaluates the performance and behavior of cross bred cows fed using two types of fenceline feed barriers like post-and-rail with partition and without partition and elevated mangers. This book is also emphasizes about how to feed dairy animals effectively, naturally and economically in commercial dairy farms.
