Female Characters' Resistance to Masculine Stereotypes

The book is a deconstructive narrative of how female characters have dismantled and resisted the masculine stereotypes often labelled on the females as a result of deep-seated patriarchal leaning of the African society and throughout the globe. The female gender undergoes a transformation that is akin to a revolution against oppression from the elements of patriarchy and androcentricism. The book focuses on the works of fiction written by Bole Asenath Odaga-a Kenyan female writer who champions women as mobilizers, agents of change and also radicals who have adopted feminism as the vehicle of liberation. Theoretically, this work is anchored on gynocriticism and radical feminism. As a gynocritic, Bole Asenath Odaga is a genius intellectual who produces textual meanings that are relevant to the contemporary world and she approaches literary meaning as reactive when diplomacy fails to reign.
