Fee-for-Service Social Work Experience; Insights from Practitioners

Fee-For-Service Social Work has been highly contested and the focus of much criticism, ranging from the abandonment of social justice to the provision of unnecessary and lengthy therapeutic treatments in the pursuit of profit. This study takes a fresh look at the historical debate and introduces the perspective of the fee-for-service practitioner to shed some light on the nature and characteristics of fee-for-service from the perspective of the social workers in private practice. The study's findings produce a new understanding of fee-for-service that challenges traditional assumptions - this is a fine read for any student or practitioner interested in the fee-for-service debate, presenting the traditional critiques in a clear and easy to understand manner
