Exploring the influence of addictive factors of internet

Applications of internet has become an integral part of daily life in today¿s socio-technical environment. While internet brings numerous positive benefits to the individual lives such as enhancing the quality of life, wellbeing of marginal groups, the increased use of the internet applications has also led to addictive dependency. Academic outcomes have been found negatively related to over use of online video games, online social networking sites, and other types of internet applications. Hence, understanding the impact of internet on the students¿ academic life is gaining momentum and exploring the psychological correlates of Problematic Internet Use (among research students) is addressed in the book. The exploration of the extent to which the general internet use and its problematic use among the research students would offer new and detailed information on the ways in which research students develop their online behaviors and online deviant behaviors.
