Experimental Investigations on Machinability Parameters of Inconel 718

This book is intended to serve as a reference for the academicians, researchers and industrialists. Superalloys are metallic materials used for high temperature service where the stability and resistance to deformation are principle requirements. Superalloys are based on cobalt, iron or nickel, the nickel based super alloys being best fitted to aero engine applications. Among all the available Nickel based super alloys, Inconel 718 is the most extensively used material in many manufacturing engineering applications. Inconel 718 constitutes major portion of aerospace applications. The book presents the detailed experimental investigations during high speed dry turning of Inconel 718 super alloy using tungsten carbide tools of square geometry. The performance of these tools has been evaluated and analyzed and presented in this book.
