Evaluation of quinine-based tablets sold in Shabunda

Counterfeit medicines, a global scourge, is one of the major challenges currently facing the health sector. The traffic of counterfeit drugs is increasingly experienced in underdeveloped countries and more specifically on the African continent where a lack of social protection, combined with high prices, leads to the search for cheaper access to treatments. All the different classes of drugs are affected by this problem and more particularly the antiretrovirals and antimalarials.In order to verify the quality of quinine sold in Mugembe, different tests were conducted on our samples, notably the examination of the label, the organoleptic character, the identification test, the mass uniformity test, the disintegration test and the dissolution test.
