Evaluation of Performance Characteristic of a Gas Turbine

The major push for this work is insufficient power generation issues and the need to improve the availability of power. The work focuses on using pertinent performance parameters to evaluate the performance characteristics of a gas turbine: MS5001Nuovopignone engine of 25MW capacity. Also, the work deals explicitly on how the effects of ambient temperature on the gas turbine. However, comparison of the performance criteria of the actual working parameters of the gas turbine were made with the industry values and it was found that they prove significant correspondence. Hence, this work will be useful to post-graduate and undergraduate students who have interest in the field of gas turbine engineering and maintenance.
