Water is uniquely vulnerable to pollution. As water is ¿universal solvent¿, dissolves lot of substances than the other liquids on earth, it gets easily polluted. When toxic substances from various sources like effluents from industries, sewage from towns and factories come in contact with drinking water, they get dissolved and blend with it, and ultimately lead to its pollution. Water quality testing may be a vital component of environmental monitoring. When water quality is poor, it affects not only aquatic life but also the surrounding ecosystem as well. In terms of its applicability, the chemical, physical and biological properties of water describe its quality. Variety of parameters affects the usability of water for a specific purpose.
