Evaluation of EIA system in UK and Pakistan

This book presents a comparative evaluation of EIA Methods and Reviews of Environmental Statements from UK and Pakistan. The essential goal of this work is to describe a comprehensive differences in adopted methods for EIA in both countries. Each of the steps of EIA in UK is compared with it parallel step of EIA in Pakistan. This book includes comparison of layout of EIA, how the development activity and site is described in respect of the predicted impact, all legal and statutory requirements of EIA, and general procedure for example, Analysis of Alternatives, Screening, Scoping, EIA Report preparation, decision making and the Monitoring of EIA. ES and the baseline of Pakistani EIA are reviewed and compared by using Lee and Colley (1992) Review Package. It is found that there are technical lacking in Pakistan for assessing the Environmental impacts resulting for the projects, while in UK EIA is being conducted with due consideration and is crucial part that decides the applicability of the developmental project.
