Ethics in the public employee

This paper deals with the implication of ethical issues immersed in the Public Administration. Specifically, the influence of ethical values and principles in the development of employment, exercised by civil servants. The evolution experienced by the ethical management marked in a remarkable way the initiative to promote these policies by a great number of states. Taking into account the problem posed by the growing practice of behaviors contrary to the general interest, producing an abuse of power by some and affecting the proper functioning of the Administration. The legislation drafted in Spain has been of great help in promoting a change in the public model, developing measures to solve the deficiencies in the system. This has had a social impact, reflected in the welfare of society as a result of the efficiency and development in the public sphere. For this reason, all the initiatives carried out so far encourage a change of mentality, promoting good conduct and the development of a professional administrative practice based on ethical principles and aimed at the general interest.
