Several techniques of estimating precipitable water vapour were described such as the use of sun-photometer and GPS/GNSS receivers; the easy method of using surface meteorological data to estimate precipitable water vapour was also explored and the result compared to the more advanced methods. Some empirical relations were also obtained that could be used to estimate precipitable water vapour within the West African region.
