The classical economists, for example, who lived in a largely Agrarian society, naturally took interest in Agricultural Production and discussed land productivity. The Neoclassical Economists, who lived in a more industrial society, tended to neglect land in the production function and regarded capital and labor as the only important factors of production. In our modern era where sustaining the planet is a major challenge,the role of natural resources, especially energy, is beginning to attract some attention from economists and people from all works of life.
