Environmental Movies: Awareness, Activism and Sustainability

The environment is degrading day-by-day. A number of reasons can be assigned for it. To overcome this situation number of measures can be adopted which include scientific and technological interventions, managerial skills, economic measures, legislative, policies, etc. All these measures have their merits and demerits associated with it. One of the other measures which can be adopted to protect and conserve environment includes environmental documentary films. This book discusses environmental documentaries as a means for nurturing environmental activism among individual which will pave way towards environmental protection and conservation and ultimate towards sustainable development. Various Hollywood movies which had played significant contribution towards environmental activism have been also stated. The findings were assessed at international and national levels. In conclusion it can be stated that the various measures to initiate environmental activism among individual environmental documentary films can play a major role hence they should be encouraged and promoted at national and international levels.
