Environmental Health Indicators in Albania

For the first time, in this rapport, it is granted the summarized activity and situation of the environment correlated with environmental ¿ health indicators in Albania. The cooperation between many scientific and executive institutions in Albania, under the direction of the Institute of Public Health, were able to summarize, process, and evaluate the data to formulate a conclusion of concrete recommendations concerning the environmental status and the effectiveness in the population¿s health. This cooperation was very valuable in composing the data provided in the rapport. The Institute of Public Health, in this study has researched the environmental pollution in Albania using specific methods and recommended indicators from WHO. The complex evaluation of the correlation between air pollution and the cause and effect of the population¿s illness and disease development, are a clear representation of this study in Albania. The purpose of this research was to provide a clear and accurate picture of the environmental situation in Albania and to provide an exact reflection of all the data collected and assessment of environmental-health indicators.
