Environmental and Socio-Economic Impact

The researcher would like to forward the following key recommendations. Ecological Aspect: Any investment project should conduct EIA study and submit the document to the concerned government offices before starting the implementation of the project. Government should give due attention to promote environmentally friendly and ecologically sound investments. Economic Aspect: Government should consider its food security program upon the promotion of agro-fuel production elsewhere in the country. Social Aspect: Any investment project should adopt the culture of negotiation on mutual benefits with all the concerned parties to assure the sustainability of the project. FEPC should respect and be guided by the Labor Proclamation Number 377/2003 of the country for its local staff in order to avoid conflict that could arise from its staff. Legal Aspect: Any investment promotion in Oromiya Region should be guided and governed by Oromiya National Regional State Rural Land Use and Administration Proclamation Number 130/207 and the Federal Government of Ethiopia Proclamation Number 295/2002, a proclamation provided for the establishment of environmental protection organs.
