Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Management in Mopani

Extreme poverty, inequality and development are major issues bedeviling the South African government . In part, the state machinery considers entrepreneurship and the development of small enterprises as important in economic development, poverty reduction and employment creation. Although efforts have been made to make enterprises an important area for development and poverty alleviation, unemployment and underdevelopment still persist. The rate of unemployment and small enterprise failure is alarming and worrisome. The theme of this book is around entrepreneurship management in a rural setting, by novice entrepreneurs. The book contributes to the strategies, practices and knowledge that must be employed to overcome the challenges that the small business owners (farmers) face. It explains what else must be done about (how to deal with) the problems of small business failure and development, particularly among those whose starts ups are highly at risk. The book considers a mix of strategies, integrative business management model and how such has implications on the future of small business development.
