English influence on the Czech language

I decided to deal with this topic in order to demonstrate that the Czech language is infiltrated by English expressions and I made efforts to find out why it is so. When I overhear especially teenagers¿ conversation, I sometimes wonder if they still speak Czech or not. So the aim of this work is to show the growing importance of English and its impact on the Czech language. I try to cover the history of the English language to show how it originated, developed and how and why it became an international language used all over the world. Then I discuss the influence of English on Slavic languages in order to demonstrate both the need of English words and problems with their adaptation. Concerning the final part, a questionnaire was drawn up to demonstrate the enormous English impact on Czech. Czech respondents were asked to deal with certain English expressions to prove their knowledge in understanding or using them.
