Energy Self-Sufficiency and Cross Border Energy Trade:

Just energy transition is becoming hot topic across the continents considering world climate change and on the backdrop of pandemic and Ukraine Russia war situation. The use of renewable energy resources is growing rapidly. Therefore, due to intermittence nature of it, there are more unknown variables and fluctuations in power and voltage near future. Virtual power plant with virtual energy storage systems, DER supported by AI, Smart grid etc. and their effective management can help in solving these issues. Green hydrogen and other innovative technological provisions may also become increasingly viable. On the other hand, cross border energy cooperation can utilize idle infrastructure, liquidity, transportation route, knowledge capital etc. Balancing energy self-sufficiency and cross border energy trade to achieve energy security is crucial. In transition economies, due to dynamic process of socio-economic advancement, energy systems should be growing in a coordinated approach both for supply and demand sides. Decentralized load centers and DER along with ¿Smart urban villages¿ and facilitating green financing to create enabling environment can support energy self sufficiency.
