The theoretical and practical effects of global climate change have now attained a cusp, such that the ravages can no longer be ignored or overemphasized. Today, our human edifices ¿ both private and public ¿ are known to be consuming a ridiculous figure of 40% of the total world energy. Consequently, this has made the building sector one of the primal contributors of greenhouse gases (GHG).On the other hand, traditional buildings are known to be the only set of man¿s tectonics which is earth conscious. They have lower carbon footprints and consume lesser energy in end use. Sadly today, the absence of objects of industrial tools in the traditional buildings has been defined to mean forming conformism with poverty. The traditional buildings are seen as being insipid and primitive. Instead of the modernist modernism to civilise its approaches by accepting history as the canon of civilisation, it has rather resigned itself to the corner of contempt and complacency. Tradition beckons on us today,before this era of technological advancements with its insatiable drive for autonomy drives the world to its cul-de-sac.
