ENDODONTIC EMERGENCIES

Knowledge and skill in various aspects of endodontics are required to achieve successful outcome of endodontic treatment. Incorrect diagnosis and treatment may cause aggravation of the situation. One must have knowledge of pain mechanism, patient management, diagnosis and approprite treatment measures for both hard and soft tissues. The emergencies are matter of great concern to the both patient and dentists. Dentists, have a responsibility to adopt an effective means of relieving pain which is in line with the overall objectives of treatment. To this end it seems logical to establish the nature of the endodontic problem, and initiate therapy as soon and as efficiently as possible.
