Emotional intelligence in the context of teacher training

Today we live in a diverse world that presents challenges, inequalities and problems to which possible solutions must be found. Likewise, the emphasis is often placed on results and competitiveness, sometimes without taking into account affective and humanizing relationships. In this sense, education is a fundamental component to achieve the development of capable human beings, not only with cognitive skills, but also those of coexistence, who can express feelings and emotions, protect their own integrity under pressure and forge a positive behavior. Emotions are the origin and the driving force of our actions as human beings. In other words, we are what we feel and emotions have great power in our knowledge and behaviour. They also influence our motivations, life projects and aspirations. They are the key to our own knowledge and personal growth.
