Electromagnetic Wave Propagation and Antennas

This book provides the basics of electromagnetic waves, radar system and antennas. The current interest in these areas is due to the growth of wireless communications, optical fibers, and information technology. Communications, antenna, radar, and microwave engineers must deal with the generation, transmission, and reception of electromagnetic waves. The text is introduced in a simple way and easy to understand and organized around three main themes: 1. Propagation, reflection, and transmission of plane waves. 2. Principles of radar system. 3. Fundamentals of antennas including wire and aperture antennas in addition to their applications. The book is suitable for undergraduate students in the second or third year, and there are sufficient materials in the book for a series of two semesters. This book is also appropriate for first year graduate students who would like to specialize in the above topics. The book contains seven chapters and can also be used by engineers and practicing scientists who want a quick review that covers most of the basic concepts and includes many practical examples.
