Electromagnetic Survey for Vein Graphite Investigation, Sri Lanka

Electromagnetic survey is one most popular Geophysical Investigation method in sub surface exploration. Regarding vein Graphite investigation, traditional drilling and conventional methods has been used. Application of low Frequency Electromagnetic survey is discussed trough this case study. The study was carried out in Rangala area (Central Highland, Sri Lanka). Survey was done on pre-defined grid within abandoned Mine land. VLF ¿ EM 16 low Frequency Electromagnetic receiver was used for the survey. Data collection was analyzed by using filtering methods and interpretations were made by considering various geological factors. The study was done in Year 2015, to fulfill the requirement for Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology, offered by the University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka.
