Election Torture in Nwoya, 2016

The preparation for elections of 2016 in Nwoya Constituency, Uganda by all Parliamentary Candidates started with hope for success. In a district with only one constituency, it translates into only two positions: district women Member of Parliament and another slot for Constituency Member of Parliament to be competed for by all gender. The 2016 Election for Members of Parliament in Nwoya was not for those who have hypertension, diabetes, temperament, honest and over expectant. The torture needed thick skin to withstand the unpredictable lashes. Whether you were a flag bearer or independent candidate, torture was occasioned nevertheless. You looked for what you wanted. Election 2016 did not care for incumbents, ministers or those who used a bagful of money, torture was meted to all. Even those who sailed through to Parliament, beware of 2021 or probably 2023 when other competitors will draw their knives for a pound of flesh near your heart!
