Effects of Lime and Bentonite on Pelletization of Koton-Karfe Iron Ore

The research work revealed the optimum percent (%) bentonite addition that can be used in pelletization and sintering of iron concentrates irrespective of their chemical and mineralogical compositions after beneficiation. The research work also revealed the effects of other percents additions of lime and bentonite on metallurgical/mechanical properties of pellets required for iron and steel production. Furthermore the numbers of pellets that can be produced with respect to sieve sizes fractions which could be used to express the efficiency of the economic of pellets production can be deduced. Therefore this work will give researchers and engineering students of higher institutions the insight and understanding to the mechanism of pelletization of iron concentrates.
